Excitment as £10k from Sport England is secured to drive up canoeing at Rudyard

£10k from Sport England is good news for the Rudyard Lake Trust.  Over the past year, HeawardSports Ltd. has been supporting the fantastic Rudyard Lake Trust to deliver a range of funding bids. These aim to help the Trust secure and grow access to the lake for a range of paddlesport. The latest development in this exciting journey has seen the Trust awarded a grant of £10k from Sport England. This grant will fund a range of new projects at the lake, all designed to bring this popular Staffordshire beauty spot alive for paddlers of all kinds, including those new to the sport but whoRead More →

Fantastic new community gym launching this October

Developing a new community gym Several months ago we were introduced to C.A.R.E. (Herefordshire) CIC, C.A.R.E is a fantastic community interest company based between Hereford and Abergavenny. C.A.R.E. currently run the village Post Office and shop as well as a newly launched community cafe. They also deliver a wide range of services for older vulnerable/isolated people in their local area, Herefordshire’s Golden Valley. Next door to the cafe they also hold a lease on an empty light industrial unit and had long dreamt of opening this up as a community gym. C.A.R.E.s lack of experience in the sport/leisure sector was a barrier to the schemeRead More →

Ladsandads Secure £27,252 For New Toilet Block

With support for Heawardsports Ltd. Newcastle Ladsandads can now press ahead with improving their ground at Pool Dam in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. Earlier this year we helped the Newcastle-Under-Lyme branch of children’s football charity, Staffordshire LadsanDads secure a grant of £27,252. The grant comes from local company Red Industries, Landfill Communities Fund. It will pay for installation and connection to mains services of a brand new vandal resistant steel storage container at Pool Dam. The container will be specially converted to provide much needed male and female toilets. This make it far more comfortable for the parents, players and supporters of both home and away teams usingRead More →

£3,000 Peoples Power Fund grant for security at Foley Meir FC

Peoples Power Fund Grant Helps Secure Foley Meir FC Site It was great to wake up this morning to an email from the club to let me know that Matthew Ellis the Police and Crime Commissioner for Staffordshire had awarded £3,000 to the club through his Peoples Power Fund. This will help improve security at the club by installing new perimeter fencing to a vulnerable part of the clubs site. This is especially welcome news as the club have suffered two separate break-ins during the time its taken to develop the bid and for the PCC to reach a decision.  This hasn’t been the easiestRead More →

Red Industries Grant £29,729 to Newcastle ‘Ladsandads’

RED Industries Grant Helps Newcastle Ladsandads It was great to receive an update from Staffordshire based youth football institution ‘Ladsandads’ on Wednesday this week to say that their Newcastle Branch’s application for a grant had been successful in securing £29,729 from Red Industries Landfill Tax Credit Grant Programme. HeawardSports Ltd. worked very closely with the Branch to help develop what was an urgent bid to meet the funders fast approaching deadline. Our work included designing and delivering a rapid online and hard copy consultation exercise and drafting the bid itself. The project will provide fencing to fully secure the site following a long history ofRead More →

Grants for places where people can be active

Grants to improve your facilities Many sports clubs, community groups and organisations like schools and colleges dream of developing or improving their facilities but all too often this feels like it’s out of reach. One of the best sources of medium size grants  for investment in places where people can be active is Sport England’s Community Asset Fund. This offers clubs and community groups a fantastic opportunity to secure much-needed investment to create or improve places where local people can be active. This could be a football pitch, community hall, canal towpath or almost any other space. Details can be found about the programme hereRead More →
